Darien is a graduate of Morehouse College,where he majored in Philosophy and concentrated in Leadership Studies at the Andrew Young Center for Global Research.At Morehouse,Darien graduated as the top-ranking senior in the Department of Philosophy and was selected as a Finalist for the prestigious Rhodes Scholarship for graduate study at the University of Oxford.He also conducted two independent research projects in ethics and political theory at the University of Pennsylvania and Princeton University as an undergraduate.
Since 2017,Darien has served as a Teaching Fellow in the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences at Harvard University,where he has taught undergraduate courses in logic,ethics,epistemology,the history of Western philosophy,and African American Studies.He also has experience teaching advanced high school students as a Faculty Instructor for the Harvard Summer School Pre-college program,where he teaches courses on critical theory and the philosophy of social perception.In addition to his teaching duties,he has also advised international high school and undergraduate students on how to adapt to the cultural norms and expectations of institutions of higher education in the United States.
